I check the mail faithfully each day, awaiting word from you.
Memories of you cuddled in the arms of the childless couple gazing lovely at your sweet, angelic face with such joy and adoration comfort me
Thirty years later, I know the worst day of my life was the absolutely best thing I could have done for you.
This is my offering for Week Sixteen of Three Line Tales Challenge hosted by Sonya of Only 100 Words.
Come join fun!
- Write three lines inspired by the photo prompt (& give them a title if possible).
- Link back to this post.
- Tag your post with 3LineTales (so everyone can find you in the Reader).
- Read and comment on other TLT participants’ lines.
- NEW: If you want your post to be included in the round-up, you have until Sunday evening to publish it.
- Have fun.
A lot of emotion packed in those three lines. Powerful.

So heart-wrenching–sometimes we have to be selfless, even if it aches.

Wow.. As selfless as only a mother can be. And, all she is expecting is a letter from her baby, that baby, which may not even be aware of the truth, the sacrifice. The mother may very well know that she ain’t receiving a letter, but, her longing for a letter, symbolizes her love, pure, unconditional love. Wow.

You managed to create intrigue. I am wondering what her background is and how painful that choice must have been.
