About

Welcome to KAY MORRIS WRITES! I am both humbled and flattered by your presence.  I am aspiring author who will use this platform to entertain, enlighten, and inspire others by sharing my gift and my journey.

WHO AM I: I married the love of my life who indulges me and allows me to escape our daily life and live inside my own head.  I am the mother of three children who simultaneously encourage, inspire and frustrate with their intellect, creativity, and humanity.  I have a LARGE extended family that loves openly, honestly and unconditionally.  I am also blessed with a small, but close circle of women who honor me with the gift of the genuine, authentic friendship.

MY STORY: Simply put, I AM PASSIONATE ABOUT READING!  For as long as I can remember, books have always been my escape.  I can get lost in a good book for hours.  I live for the opening words of the first chapter, as the tapestry of the setting is woven, the swell of anticipation as the plot develops and the character’s conflict is revealed, all culminating in a euphoric ending that leaves you dizzy and wanting more.  That type of exhilaration can only be found between the first and last page of a good book.

After spending years reading and visiting the world of others, I’ve decided to pursue my passion by putting pen to paper and becoming an author.  My goal here is two-fold:

  • Create realistic fiction with memorable and relatable characters
  • Inspire others to pursue their dreams

Thank you for sharing this journey with me.  I welcome your comments, feedback and suggestions.  If you like what you see, please stop by again and bring a friend!  Happy Reading!

-kay

Your love for reading translates into beautiful pieces of fiction. 🙂 I am glad to know that we have a common beginning, I was a reader first before I let my guard down and write. 🙂
Thus, these words make me love your blog so much: ‘ I live for the opening words of the first chapter, as the tapestry of the setting is woven, the swell of anticipation as the plot develops and the character’s conflict is revealed, all culminating in a euphoric ending that leaves you dizzy and wanting more.’

It’s like my mind is reading the words I can’t put into paper. ❤

Thank you so much…it’s a mean world out there in the publishing game so I figured find friendly friends in blog world….well, I do now…before in January it all looked rather intimidating but once initial inertia was overcome and engaging began I found like minded folk all over and the thing that really caught me out is how flipping nice everyone is!! So much so that’s it’s become a mission to seek out new world and new civilisations…oh hang about that’s Star Trek….seek out new bloggers…that was it! I love connecting with aspring authors too…lovely to meet you 😇

        Love the Star Trek reference!
One of the best pieces of advice I received (and held on to) about writing was to find my tribe. Blogging has provided a platform to develop my tribe, and I am so grateful! Thanks so much for stopping by ☺

      • Gary says:

That’s very tribal advice indeed…and you think like me…gather in people with like minds and aspirations…they all offer support and advice all the time…well, whenever time lets then that is 🙃

Hopefully will be stopping by loads in the future and beyond…I’m sure that’s a line from somewhere too…no that was to infinity and beyond…I think…🤔
