Bikes sit in the corner collecting dust next to three pairs of abandoned roller skates along side a semi-inflated basketball and a stack of board games in the garage.
Twenty-two years, five kids plus classmates, study buddies, teammates, and dates along with a menagerie of family pets once occupied each and every square inch of our home.
Someday we would long for the hustle and bustle that constantly bounced off of our walls, but today is not the day.
This is my offering for week 9 of the Three Line Tales Challenge hosted by Sonya at Only 100 Words. The guidelines are as follows:
- Write three lines inspired by the photo prompt (& give them a title if possible).
- Link back to this post.
- Tag your post with 3LineTales (so everyone can find you in the Reader).
- Read and comment on other TLT participants’ lines.
- Have fun.
Please come join us 😀

oh wow. you told quite a tale in three lines, Kat! You covered memory of childhood, of a family, the noise, the clutter, and the reflection that someday the cluttered and noisy nest will be empty.
Great job! ❤

Thank you! This piece really hits home for me because we have teenagers. This will soon be my reality.

Really!? Wow! I thought you’re just as young as me, young in a positive way. 🙂
But that explains why this one’s so real. So raw. 🙂
